As part of the Vancouver Affordable Housing Agency’s seven-site program, this site was acquired in 2018 with a 99-year lease from the City of Vancouver. Located in Vancouver’s growing River District, the site is proposed to include a 21-storey highrise with a six-storey component, offering studios, 1-, 2-, and 3-bedroom homes. Approximately half of the homes will be operated by M’akola Housing Society, with a focus on serving the Indigenous population. The remaining homes will operate as a new housing co-operative. Funding has been provided through the BC Housing Build BC: Community Housing Fund.
