Our History

Community Land Trust was formed in 1993 by the Co-operative Housing Federation of BC. Our first properties were co-operatives, operating on lands owned by the provincial government, that were transferred to CLT.

A groundbreaking partnership with the City of Vancouver in 2012 was the catalyst for CLT’s growth and expansion, providing the scale needed to leverage additional opportunities and employ  innovative strategies for housing development.

The CLT portfolio now includes more than 2,600 homes throughout BC that we have acquired, built or redeveloped so that families and individuals with low to moderate incomes, across ages and abilities, have a great place to call home.
